A: Budget Control is available for source documents. Source documents include purchase requisitions, purchase orders and purchase invoices.

A: The budgetary control levels can be set up to disabled, warning or blocking. Here's how it's done:
Q: Where can I view and analyze the current budget status?
A: Budget status can be viewed on the Budget Control Status
Choose the Search icon, enter G/L Budgets, and then choose the related link.

Q: What calculation types can be defined on Budget Control?
A: Two calculation types are supported:
Cumulative - Cumulative amounts until the document posting date.
Period - Monthly amounts in the document posting date month.
Q: Is it possible to split the budget control amount on the expense/income account?
A: Setting up a budget other than setting a budget amount for an expense/income account can be done in a variety of resolutions (or in a variety of dimensions in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations terminology). For example: expense (consultancy), geographical area (New York) and organizational structure (Treasury Department).
Budget data is created or imported into the system (using Budget Import) and defined per the amount defined for the dimension combination (in system currency terms).
